I am a
person just like you. I was raised Methodist and went to Sunday
School and church on Sundays all my life. I believe my parents
felt they were doing their best by following in their parents
footsteps and so it goes on and on and on. I knew GOD existed.
There was never any question . I believed in Him and His only
Son, Jesus Christ as we were taught. We as a family or I alone
rarely read the Bible. If you went to church that was good enough.
Because of following tradition my faith was just faith. The personal
relationship with GOD was missing. I always felt the need for
something more and began to seek elsewhere. I turned to the Bible
(GOD's Word) and examined other various faiths while praying
intensly for GOD to lead me where he wanted me to do "his
will". I was so confused. Everywhere I turned there always
seemed like one thing or another just wasn't right. Recently,
after many years, I began studying via computer (how amazing!)
with WBS Teacher, Marilyn Johnson. Praise the LORD! I learned
the Truth through GOD's Word, The Bible, and on March 12, 2000
I became baptized into Jesus Christ. I now know why I was so
empty. I had everything I wanted but did not have a personal
relationship with GOD. I was missing something. I was missing
all the directions Jesus gave to us (you and me) in the Bible
(from GOD) to follow. Who else should we listen to? Why would
we? As I studied, I learned, understood, believed (through Bible
proof) and I obeyed. I am now fulfilled. Jesus is my personal
savior and I love the LORD my GOD with all my heart, soul, mind,
and body. The feeling is so overwhelming at times.
* Little old me-GOD is so great!
Marilyn was very helpful and patient with me. She clarified
any questions (by proof from the Bible). When I told her I felt
the need to be baptized she found a true Church of Christ in
my area. I began going and the rest (as they say) is history!
I have found true christians who are part of GOD's family who
place GOD above all else where HE belongs and love one another
as Christ loves us! What a blessing! If you are seeking GOD,
HE will seek you also. In Mathew Chapter 7, verses 7 & 8
Jesus said: "Ask, and it will be given to you, seek, and
you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone
who asks receives, he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks,
the door will be opened." Glory to GOD always!!!!!
