Melinda
had been going to church for a long time before she came across
World Bible School on the Internet. While she came from an abusive
family, she did not allow those burdens to hold her back from
her search for God. Melinda studied for almost a year with her
study helper, Mark. They corresponded via e-mail with questions
and biblical answers month after month - often debating and reasoning
about biblical faith and believing or baptism and its necessity.
She often challenged Mark and the WBS courses - taking her questions
to the leader of her church, and asking him for biblical answers.
Finally, she wrote a message to Mark saying the church leader
forbade her from continued study and she discontinued the Bible
lessons.
Some months later, Mark received a message from Melinda that
she had been led astray and wanted to resume her studies of the
Bible. Now she writes,
"I am making every attempt to follow what the word of
God says, especially when Christ said it is better to give than
to receive. I am still learning the word of God, and pray that
I would become more complete as a Christian in my learning. I
am not married and do not have a family that depends on me. I
do, however have a large Christian family that I can go to and
ask any questions that I don't have the answers for."
Melinda is now a Christian and a graduate of World Bible School.
She is serving others as a study helper.
