Biography
In the midst
of the Great Depression, my lovely Christian mother died when I was 15.
I was the oldest of 3 and tried to take my mother's place as best I could.
After attending college for two years, I began teaching in a one-teacher
school and continued to teach for 26 years, ending my career as a high
school librarian. In the meantime, I married and had a son, who is
now a cardiologist, and a daughter, who is a retired teacher. I have
five grandchildren with three of them married. All my children and
grandchildren and their husbands or wives are faithful Christians.
Spiritual
Background
I grew up in
a Christian home and became a Christian at an early age. I taught
Bible classes longer than I taught in public schools. The scripture
that has guided me throughout my life has been, "Seek ye first his kingdom
and his righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you as well."
This has certainly been true in my life as I have been greatly blessed
as I grew older.
Favorite Verses
I think one
of the most beautiful scriptures in the Bible is Psalm 19:1-4:
"The heavens
declare the glory of God; and the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their
voice goes into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."
Why I Am a
WBS Teacher
It is a privilege
to be one of the thousands of teachers in World Bible School which is one
of the greatest tools for studying the Bible in today's world. Just
as in public school I loved my students, I have learned to love my World
Bible School students. Most of them I will never meet in this world,
but I hope to see them in heaven. I hope I can continue teaching
for the rest of my life.
Hobbies /
Interests
I love to read
and work in the yard and garden. I spend hours searching for scriptures
in order to help my students study and understand the Bible. I am
sure I should do more and am not systematic.
