Biography
I grew up in
Texas and graduated from high school in 1957. I married my husband,
Tom, in Oct. of that same year and we have three children and five grandchildren.
Tom was in the Air Force and retired in 1975. We spent two years in
Turkey and from there we went to Arizona and ended up in Del Rio, Tx. in 1970.
Spiritual
Background
I grew up in
the church of Christ, but when I got married I fell away for about ten years.
Then we decided we needed something more in our lives so we started studying
the Bible and attended church services in Gilbert, Az. where Tom was baptized
in 1968 and we have been faithful to the Lord since then.
Favorite
Verses
There are a lot
of passages I like, but I think one of my favorite is Heb. 2:17-18.
Sometimes I think we don't believe Jesus knows what we go through, but He
does because He came to earth and lived as man and was tempted the same as
we are, so He can understand what we are going through.
Hebrews 2:17-18
"For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order
that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God,
and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself
suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Why I
Am a WBS Teacher
I wanted to be
able to teach others and because I don't work and have limited contact with
other people, I thought WBS would be a good way to share the Gospel with
others.
Hobbies
/ Interests
I enjoy fishing
with my husband and also like to sew, do cross stitch, crochet, and spend
time with my two daughters who live close by and their families. My
son lives in Illinois, so we don't get to see them as often as we would like,
but hopefully he will be moving to San Antonio next year so we will be able
to spend more time with him and his family. I don't really have a favorite
study topic. I just enjoy studying whatever subject that comes up that
needs to be studied.
