Don Meikle

Biography

I was born in Greeley, Colorado, USA in 1952.  I lived in Colorado until the sixth grade of school when my family moved to the panhandle of Texas. When I was in High school, I moved to Missouri for a couple of years where I learned to fly airplanes.  I then moved back to Texas.  I lived in Plainview, Texas until I was 21 years of age.  I moved to Florida for two years, where I met my wife Linda.  Linda and I moved to Tennessee in 1975 and we are still there. 

I began taking flying lessons when I was 17 years old.  I paid for all of my licenses working as a line boy fueling up airplanes at the local airports.  I have had numerous jobs in aviation.  I also worked for my Father-In-Law at his radio stations.  I worked in the broadcasting business from 1974 until 1982.  I was doing some flying during that time but returned to full time flying in 1983. I have been an airline pilot since 1985.  I am currently employed by a major U.S. airline.

Spiritual Background

I have been a Christian for approximately 28 years.  Prior to my salvation, I lived a life that in appearance said I was trying very hard to be chief among sinners.   Finally, through the grace of God, I was enlightened to my destructive and perverse life style. Daily I thank God for his grace, mercy, and for his Son Jesus without whom we would have no method of salvation.  I believe that eternity is not an option, the only option is where we will spend eternity.  We have the choice to spend eternity in Heaven.  All that is required of us is to keep the commandments of Jesus and follow the words recorded in John 15:9-10 (NKJV).

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.  If you keep My commandments,  you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love."

1 Peter 1:24-25 (NKJV)  "Because 'all flesh is as grass,  and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.   The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.'  Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you."

Why I Am a WBS Teacher

I believe that Jesus has commanded us to teach others.  WBS  is the perfect vehicle for me to accomplish this command.  Even though I travel internationally I can still get email almost anywhere I travel.

Campaigns

I have preached from the pulpit on occasion and I have tried to assist family members in their salvation.

Hobbies / Interests

I enjoy fishing, computers, the stock market, and studying God’s word. I love reading and studying the prophecies of the Old Testament and then seeing them fulfilled in Jesus.  I also love the book of Daniel, an amazingly accurate history, predicted hundreds of years before completion.
