Born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, USA, I grew up on a small farm just outside Council Bluffs. I attended Iowana Grade School a little 2-room school with 2 teachers, each teaching 4 grades. I attended Abraham Lincoln High School where I met my wife to be in typing class. I graduated in August 1963. My wife Shar studied the Bible with me leading me to Christ in 1963. Bible study has been a vital part of our lives and in the raising of our children. Upon graduating from High School in 1963, I joined the Air Force and served 2 years in Charleston, South Carolina. A beautiful historical city. In December 1964 I was sent to Viet Nam returning December 1965. When I returned from Viet Nam, I was discharged from the Air Force and returned to Council Bluffs. I joined the Fire Department where I started as a Fire Fighter. Nine years later I had advanced to an Engineer, but since I had developed diabetes I felt it best to change careers. The next 25 years I worked in the Health Care field as Director of Safety, Housekeeping and Laundry. Most of these years were in Minnesota. I am now retired. For fifteen years of this time Shar and I lived in Winona, Minnesota. We worshiped with the Winona Church of Christ where I preached sermons, taught Bible classes and served as church treasurer. Dan W. and Phil are our sons. We are proud grandparents to 2 wonderful children and a young man, Brent whom we helped raise in Minnesota before moving to Florida. Dan W., our oldest son, and his wife Kath were over the road truckers traveling all over this wonderful country of ours. Recently they moved to the State of Arizona where they are able to be home with their family each evening. Phil, our younger son, is married to Nikki and they live in Maryland. Both are dedicated Christians who serve our Lord faithfully. Phil, who spent 10 years in the Army, is now a civilian again. He is employed by the U.S. Government. I have been grading Bible lessons for World Bible School [WBS] Truth For The World [TFTW], and Bible Roadmap for 6 years. Doing this is a wonderful way to serve God. Spiritual Goals My goal is to reach as many souls with the truths found only in God’s Word, The Bible. Since the establishment of my web site, Now The Day Is Over www.nowthedayisover.org , and my service with World Bible School, I have conducted over 1,500 Bible studies. Some of these Bible students have been baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and added to His church. I love to answer Bible questions, especially those from the people I study with. Favorite passage in the Bible The passage below is my desire, to be like Job. Job 1:1 "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil." Hobbies / Interests I used to send out two e-mail list. One list was for everyone which contained a daily devotional and either a poem, article or sermon. The other list was for our youth which contained a daily devotional and a homework helper or some jokes. Photography is my second hobby, especially nature photos.
