Who is the Son of God?
Our Father in Heaven almost two thousand years ago sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be born and live as a man in the world that He created.  A prophet of GOD, Isaiah, foretold nearly 700 years before Jesus' birth that He would be born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit.  An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said:
"Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:  "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel", which means, 'God with us.'"
--Matthew 1:20-23
Jesus Christ is Our Savior
Jesus Christ came to this world for one purpose only.  He and our Father in Heaven determined that Jesus would die as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind.  Without His priceless gift of life, all men were condemned to die for their sins, because all have sinned against GOD (Romans 3:23).  As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one.  There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless.  There is no one who does good, not even
one."
--Romans 3:10-12
God still loved His children whom He created.
"You see, at just the right time, when we were still  powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him."
--Romans 5:6-9
Without Jesus' sacrifice for mankind, all men were condemned to a torment in eternal hell.  GOD provided the way to forgive man by sending Jesus into the world.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and  only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."
--John 3:16-18
"There is no other name in Heaven or on earth through which mankind can be saved.  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
--Acts 4:12
Jesus is a Healer through the Power of God
Jesus came to this world to show mankind how loving a GOD our creator is.  He came to heal men, not to destroy them, even though mankind did nothing good to deserve forgiveness.  Jesus often showed His ability to heal men physically as well as spiritually.

"Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted,  'Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!'  The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"  Jesus stopped and called them. 'What do you want me to do for you?' he asked.  'Lord,' they answered, 'we want our sight.'  Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed Him."
--Matthew 20:30-34
At another time Jesus healed a leper.
"A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on
his knees, 'If you are willing, you can make me clean.' Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.  'I am willing,' he said.  'Be clean!'  Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured."
--Mark 1:40-42
Jesus does not heal men with diseases through miracles today.  He is in Heaven with our Heavenly  Father.  GOD gave this power to His Son for a purpose.
"Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.  But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
--John 20:30-31
Jesus was crucified on a cross by sinful men.  Even though Jesus was the Son of God, mankind hated Him.

"If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin.  Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.  He who hates me hates my Father as well.  If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin.  But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father."
--John 15:22-25
Jesus was the perfect Son of God.  He never sinned and yet mankind attempted to find fault with Him.  Because Jesus showed them their sin, mankind hanged the Son of God on a wooden cross.
"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his
mouth.  When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so
that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.  By his wounds you have been healed."
--1 Peter 2:22-24
On one day nearly two thousand years ago, mankind gave the Son of God to a governor to die.
"'What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?' Pilate asked.  They all answered, 'Crucify him!'  'Why?  What crime has he committed?' asked Pilate.  But they shouted all the louder, 'Crucify him!' When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and
washed his hands in front of the crowd.  'I am innocent of this man's blood,' he said.  'It is your responsibility!'  All the people answered, 'Let his
blood be on us and on our children!'"
--Matthew 27:22-25
Even while hanging on the cross about to die the Lord Jesus prayed to our Heavenly Father.
"When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals-one on his right, the other on his left.  Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.'"
--Luke 23:33-34
Jesus, the Son of God, is Alive!
Death could not keep the Son of God in the grave.  After three days some of His followers went to His grave site.  They were met by an angel of God.
"The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.  There you will see him.  Now I have told you.'  So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.  Suddenly Jesus met them.  'Greetings,' he said.  They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him."
--Matthew 28:5-9
Jesus Christ was God Living among Men
"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.  And now, Father, glorify
me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."
--John 17:3-5
