It is our hope that you are familiar with the courses and the good fruit World Bible School has produced around the world. WBS has been sending correspondence courses to students for more than 30 years. During this time, more than 20 million students have enrolled for the courses.

The WBS Mission Statement

WBS equips and facilitates Christian teachers, churches and missionaries to make disciples throughout the world through correspondence studies.

Understanding the purpose of the courses.

The purpose of the WBS courses is to provide students like you an understanding of who God is, build your faith in Him, and lead you to make a life-long commitment to follow Jesus Christ. This commitment includes a realization of sin in your life and a wholehearted desire to turn from sin and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus and added to His body.

The WBS copyrighted courses are designed for an individual student to be assigned a WBS Bible Study Helper. Your Bible study journey will begin with a variety of faith-building bilbical topics and conclude with indepth studies of the book of Ephesians that will encourage and strengthen your daily walk as a child of God.

Ephesians 4:4-6
There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called-- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Learning about Discipleship

We read in Scripture that after Jesus asked the twelve apostles to follow Him, He promised to make them "fishers of men". In keeping with His promise, the apostles learned about God's will from Jesus. To their surprise, they heard Jesus teaching truths which seemed contrary to much of their understanding. On many occasions, Jesus taught His followers by saying, "You have heard it said...but I tell you the truth..." thus enlightening their hearts and minds to the ways of God. At the end of His time of teaching, Jesus was resurrected from the dead and appeared to more than 500, including His apostles. To them, He gave a mission.

Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Because of God's love and grace, it is His desire to reconcile with each of us through Jesus, His Son, and establish a personal covenant relationship. When you and I come to the full knowledge of this desire through study of His word, like the first followers of Jesus, our love overflows with joy in telling others! Completing the World Bible School courses is the perfect beginning to understanding what the Scriptures teach about being a disciple.

We are convinced God gave us His book and His message because He longs for us to learn how to have hope, joy, peace, and salvation in Christ.

To this end, we invite you to begin as a World Bible School Postal Student. This will enable you to study each of the courses thoroughly, ask questions to your Study Helper and learn to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

About WBS Study Helpers

Before becoming a WBS Study Helper, each person believes, practices and teaches the same biblical pattern for salvation in Christ. Each Christian study helper has determined to devote his life to Christ and be guided by God's teachings and commands as revealed in Scripture. These Christians have expressed faith in God and confessed the belief that Jesus Christ is God's Son who came to redeem mankind. As dictated in Scripture, study helpers have repented of sin and chosen to turn to follow God's will and ways. All WBS Study Helpers have committed to trusting firmly in God's grace for salvation by uniting with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection through baptism by immersion.

In Christ, we are reconciled to God, receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and are added by God to the body of Christ. Therefore, all WBS Study Helpers have been clothed with Christ's righteousness. WBS Bible Study Helpers are disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, serve and teach simple New Testament Christianity through the church of Christ that meets in their local area.

Psalm 86:11-12
Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.
